Azrael Update

The word of the day is edge loops! A while ago I posted some images of a model I started of Azrael. Here is a long awaited update to the model. I started adding more details to the mesh. Like muscle tone and more detail in his gear. several more passes like this and he should be where I want him. The ultimate goal is to get him into Unreal as a useable character. Enjoy the pics.

AmmoCrate Renders

So since the Dominance War is over I thought I would go back and finish some of the models I posted earlier. The images here are renders of the ammo crate I modeled previously. As you can see the crate is textured and it is being rendered in Unreal 3.

Wet Sherman Tank

I modeled the Sherman in Maya using blueprints and textured it in Photoshop. This tank was primarily used during World War 2.

Modular Building Study

With this project I constructed the building out of pieces like Lego's. Each section of building was modeled separately to a standard size like 512 by 512. This way when snapping is turned on in the level editing tool being used, the objects will snap into place without a gap. This is supposed to make life easy for a level designer.

Maya Light Pole

Here is a light pole I modeled in Maya and then textured using Photoshop. This model was used in a game mod using the Quake 4 engine. The top image was captured in Quake 4, and the bottom was rendered in Maya.

Ammo Crate Texture

Here is the start of the wood texture for the crate. Here I just cropped an image and applied it to the crate. You can se on the ends where the images connect it doesn't make sense because the boards would have to be mitered at a 45 degree angle. By laying the image on the model like this I was able to see problems that would arise in the future.

Ammo Crate Wireframe

So Here is a model of an Ammo Crate I started work on. The image is a render of the low poly model using a toon shader outline to display the wireframe. Looks pretty sweet I think. There is a tutorial for the rendering setup on Highend3D I believe.

Azrael Updates

Here are some new images of Azrael. Basically I've been tweaking the muscles in the body to better define a distinct silhouette. Over sized the hands a little so they are more pleasing to the eye and tweak some verts on the legs and abdomen. I also got the ground work for the cape done.

Azreal Progress LowPoly

So here is a screen grab from Maya. I am simply getting the lowpoly cage modeled and then I will import in mudbox for sculpting. Enjoy!!

Azrael Project

So to get warmed up for Dominance War 4 I am challenging myself to do some fan art of an obscure comic book character. I've chosen to model texture and rig Azrael from the Batman comic books. Following the same rules from last years Dominance War. I will post the progress here. So without further delay here our some reference shots I grabbed from the net.
